Marcus Webb spent a decade working inside large marketing agencies in Atlanta, watching them bill local businesses for generic deliverables that didn’t move the needle. He’d sit in meetings where the strategy was clearly designed for a Fortune 500 brand, then handed to a family-owned restaurant with a $2,000/month budget and a prayer. The playbooks didn’t fit. The results didn’t come. And the clients renewed anyway, because they didn’t know what good looked like.
In 2019, he left. He came back to Birmingham with a clear idea: a marketing agency built from the ground up for the South, for restaurants, local shops, service businesses, and community organizations that deserved real strategy, real systems, and real results from people who actually gave a damn about the outcome. No boilerplate content calendars. No vanity metrics. No agencies that couldn’t find their client’s city on a map.
Signal Rise Media opened its doors with three clients, a shared office, and a reputation built entirely on results. No long-term contracts, because good work doesn’t need them.
